Global ER is called upon by the New York City Office of Emergency Management to provide support Hurricane Sandy Response Operations, including staffing NYC's Emergency Operations Center and Managing Special Medical Needs Shelter operations.

Global Emergency Relief Designs, secures and implements a $4.1M Grant from American Red Cross to compensate hundreds of Haitian Hospital clinicians and staff who had been working without pay for months prior to the earthquake. Global ER also develops a planning and logistics program, enabling hospital leadership to continue critical operations throughout the recovery period.

Nick founds Global Emergency Relief in response to the January 12th Haitian Earthquake

Nick is tapped to be the Director of Health and Medical for The New York City Office of Emergency Management. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, Nick leads a team of Health and Medical specialists to plan and prepare New York City for disasters and citywide emergencies. During his tenure at OEM, Nick helps to develop the City's Healthcare Facility Evacuation Plan and numerous other initiatives. He helps to manage the response to several notable health emergencies including the Flight 1549 Aviation incident (on the Hudson River) and the H1N1 influenza outbreak. ...

Nick and other team members return to Pakistan, this time to the Northwest Frontier Province where they established a field hospital with 24-hour emergency care, treating up to 550 patients per day while managing distribution of the shelters.

December, 2005

Nick makes contact with senior members of the Weyerhaeuser Company who, in response to his request, fabiricate hundreds of winterized shelters for homeless quake victims. Nick secures a deal with United Parcel Service, which provides the shipping valued at over $100,000.
